Saturdays 2:30pm-4:00pm PT
(Classes run weekly throughout October-December, student may join at any session.)
This 75 minute class takes a deeper focus of Musical theatre dance. Students should have a basic understanding of dance technique. Class will focus on developing artistry, picking up choreography, and and fun energetic appreciation of Musical Theatre Dance. Class will include a physical warm up and different dance combinations.
This class is open to both teens and adults, must be 16 to join. Some exceptions considered, email info@teatrosandiego.org with any questions!
Melissa Glasgow (She/Her/Hers)
Melissa is so excited to teach for Teatro San Diego! She recently received her MFA in Musical Theatre at San Diego State University and has spent much of her career as a musical theatre actor, traveling everywhere from Main Street USA in Disneyland to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. Favorite credits include: Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan (McCoy Rigby Entertainment), Aquata in The Little Mermaid tour, and Rita Racine in Steel Pier (San Diego State University). Melissa also has a passion for education and has taught musical theatre classes to all ages at San Diego State University, the Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts, San Diego Musical Theatre, and La Jolla Playhouse. Her aim as a teaching artist is to shape self-assured students who develop confidence, curiosity, and empathy through theatre training.
